Websites are evaluated in five areas: Aesthetics, Functionality, Effectiveness, Innovativeness & Strength of Ideas, and Website Love. Reviewers rate the website from 0-6 in each area.

0: Severely lacking

1: Needs work

2: Nothing special

3: Some merit

4: Very good

5: Great

6: Extraordinary this rating is reserved for websites that are truly exceptional

The ratings from all of the reviewers are averaged, and based on the scores the following awards may be awarded:

Overall Achievement Awards

• 27-30 Best of the Best - Truly exceptional in all areas of website achievment
• 24-26 Gold - Great across the board
• 21-23 Silver - Good across the board, and great in some areas
• 17-20 Bronze - Good across the board
• 15-17 Merit - Merit across the board

Individual Area Achievement Awards

A 6 in individual area earns an outstanding achievement award in that area, and a 5 earns an achievement award in that area.

• 6 in Functionality - Outstanding Achievement in Functionality
• 6 in Effectiveness - Outstanding Achievement in Website Effectiveness
• 6 in Creativity - Outstanding Achievement in Creativity
• 5 in Visual Design - Achievement in Visual Design
• 5 in Functionality - Achievement in Great Functionality
• 5 in Effectiveness - Achievement in Website Effectiveness
• 5 in Creativity - Achievement in Creativity
